In His Own Words

Years ago, there lived a very rich man; he was a multi billionaire. His name's Joel Anderson but his generosity  to the people in his country, Sierra Leone, made the masses to crown him the Don of the Capital, Freetown. Therefore, Joel Anderson was popularly known as Don Anderson.  He was a good will ambassador with charitable organisations in his name across the African region. However, Don Anderson, irrespective of his accomplishments and wealthy possessions was not quiet happy for he had a scattered family that has no prospect of maintaining the legacy he was going to leave after his demise when his time comes.
Joel Anderson was unhappily married to Rose Anderson for 35 years and they had 2 boys and a beautiful but unruly daughter. The oldest was Benedict Anderson commonly called Ben. He's 30 years old but has nothing to show for his years except for abusing drugs and lavishing his father's wealth on prostitutes. Ben's lifestyle influenced his younger brother, Kenny, so much that he started following his footsteps. Kenny was 5 years less older than Ben and 3 years older than their sister Noella. Noella  was more like her mum; she looks out only for herself and cares less for family except for the fact that she loves her father very much but she never got along with her mother.
Don Anderson loved travelling; he likes visiting new places. However, he was struck with heart illness that made him visit many advanced hospitals in Europe and America in search of cure, unfortunately he couldn't find one. His illness grew worse daily so advice from concerned friends and relatives made him seek for a native herbal treatment in his country.
After visiting many herbal homes and still couldn't find cure to his sickness, his best friend decided to take him to Furawa, a village in Kabala Town, Koinadugu district, that is situated in the northern province of Sierra Leone. Upon their arrival, Joel came across a beautiful young lady that was a practising nurse at the the village. Her name's Ellen.
Ellen is a humanitarian that had moved to Furawa to help her people with good medical care. Because of her medical beliefs she constantly discourages the people in Furawa to stay away from herbal drugs, "not that they are bad, but they have no right diagnosis that makes it medically condemned", she always tells the people whenever they try to come up with an argument. When Ellen saw Joel, she knew he had something that was troubling him that is health related. She immediately walked up to him with a beautiful smile she always wore on her face, introduced herself and asked why Don Anderson was in their village.
Being a man with a free spirit and an open mind, he shared with her his distress that made him to be in Furawa. Nurse Ellen being such a caring person offered accommodation to Don Anderson and his friend, Tom, that took him there.
When they got to her apartment, Ellen decide to make dinner for her guests and asked them to freshen up then have some rest.
Few hours later, dinner was ready. Ellen asked her guests to join her at the dinning table. After having a great meal, Ellen decide to start with her medical words of caution. She tried convincing Don Anderson why he shouldn't go in for herbal treatments but should continue with the medical treatments he has being having. Eventually, Nurse Ellen was able to convince him not to take the herbal treatment but Don Anderson decided to stay a couple more days after his friend had left disappointed with his decision.
The Don spent few day in Furawa and it happened that during those times he fell in love with Nurse Ellen and that made him to be visiting the village regularly. Their love grew tighter and eventually, Nurse Ellen became pregnant. Don Anderson was very much happy when he had the news. He wanted to marry her and move her to the city  but Nurse Ellen couldn't agree because her Christian faith won't let her get into a polygamous marriage. Also, the passion for her job and the love for the people of the village won't let her leave.
Her mind was made up and she thought the only way to get her decision to stand was to cut Don Anderson off. She asked him that they stop seeing each other but promised to give correct updates on the child she's going to deliver.
This was a very hard decision she took however, The Don had to forcefully respect it; for the first time in his life, Don Anderson was in love but unfortunately, he had to stay away for the sake of his unborn child and the woman whom he loves so much.
Eventually, Nurse Allen had a baby girl and she had told Don Anderson about his daughter as promised. The name of nurse Ellen's daughter is Joella Anderson. Joella grew very fast but it happened that when she was eight years old, Don Anderson's heart disease returned to him and this time, it was extremely serious.
Assuming he might not survive his recent attack, as hoped by his wife and children, Don Anderson decide to gather his family and called on his lawyer as he was going to read out his will.

Agony of a Poet

Each day takes us closer to the grave
But what's life without risk and risk without being brave
All I want is to be free; breaking the chains of being a slave
As I walk into the finest of nature; for such moments I do crave.

All I've ever wanted was to love and be loved
But my past keep bringing me more problems than I've ever solved
I can't really explain the kind of life that I'm living
It's like whenever I set my goals, the passion to move gets dissolved.

I've got a desire burning deep inside
I know what I want but others think it's pride
No one is willing to help except by their rules I must abide
Which means my life will go by whatever they decide

Life teaches us many things without having to pay fees
Sometimes I wish I can write all my frustrations in one piece
The war that takes place in my mind,  leaving my heart with no peace
Hoping for brighter days as the darkness do increase

Smile Mama Salone

Sometimes I wonder if sufferings are exactly what fortune brings
The struggles you've been through as your heart bleeds
You've seen wickedness take over the heart of your children
Selfishness and greed; the young has no respect for their kindred
To ourselves we ponder if there is any hope for tomorrow
Cause our minds are filled with negative thoughts and our hearts full  of sorrow
We live as if we are the last of our kind and there is non to follow
Only if we knew our days are numbered and our lives borrowed
I am sure you see us as a set on stage drama
We lack punctuation; no full stop, no comma
We perpetually bring you sadness that's why I miss your smile Mama
Unity, peace and love you've tried to teach us as your own
Yet we keep bringing sacrilege to thy humble throne
This saddens me for all l ever want to see is for you to smile Mama Salone.

My Mother, My Motivation

She's being there even when I had no idea
She's held me through the dark stages till it's all clear
She's my strength and courage that kicks away every fear
She's my mother,  my motivation, and that's why I share.

Every second, her words keep playing in my mind
She's my search engine to whatever I want to find
She's the most unique being in the universe, I haven't seen her kind
My mother, my motivation, the pace that keeps up my grind.

She's the best friend I've ever had
We're so close that I never miss my dad
Always correcting my wrongs and never making me look bad
Gives me hope in distress; the reason I'm always glad

My mother, my life's greatest motivation
She's the best I've had, my main inspiration
In all I do,  she ensures she makes her little contribution
My mother, the best in the universe not only our nation.

So many things going on yet we mostly tend not to care
We are scared of what of to say; living in perpetual fear
What good does it make if our feelings we cannot share?
Instead, we watch things grow worst year after year

Let’s talk about the selfish leaders in our nations
They’re more like the serpent in God’s creation
All they say are words that lure us into damnation
While we suffer with no hope for our future generation

Let’s talk about the homeless kids on our streets
How do they live, clothe, or even get food to eat?
No shelter, no education; yet we claim they are the future
I really don’t get the type of image we’re trying to capture

Let’s talk about ourselves; me and you…
We never take responsibilities for the things we do
Always wanting others to step into our shoes

And we blame them for not paying our dues… let’s talk!

I know what it feels like

Sometimes people see me as the “has it all” type
They’re thinking my roses are red and my fruits all ripe
Or maybe I was born with a golden bracelet round my hand
They keep thinking things without trying to understand
But they don’t know that I’ve walked bare footed on wet sand.

I know what it feels like to be raised by a single parent
Mama had to pay fees, feed the home and also pay rent
Had to use rope round my waist because there was no belt
Used a pair of shoes for many academic years till it gets bent
To sleep on an empty stomach, no light to do homework, all that I’ve felt.

I know what it feels like to have dreams and it only stays in your sleep
Your heart burns with disappointments and to your pillow you do weep
You toil so hard to achieve success but only failure you do reap
It’s like you’re in a dark hole, so dangerous and deep
You feel so terrible and think it’s best to end your life’s trip

When I say ‘I know how it feels like’, I really do know
I know what it means when you can’t harvest when you sow
The struggles in life are real and they’ve watched me as I grow
I know… I really do know; it’s not something I’ve learnt from some reality show

That’s why I never stay on the fast lane instead I take life really slow.

So many things seem not to be going on the right path
Hoping for a better end but with a horrible start
We all embrace the wrong and neglect the fact
What if we had the chance to take decisions?
How would we act in such position?

What if we were what we constantly criticize?
I mean the people we tag as “devil in disguise”
Would we have step up to act as wise?
Or maybe make the same excuses as the ones we criticize?
Please make time to think and analyze…

What if we all forget about race and religion?
Embrace each other, irrespective of our region
No wars, we all embrace peace and live as one
The world will be a better place with much fun
Cause we don’t really need the bombs and guns

I can be whoever, however, wherever
It’s up to me to say ‘now’ or ‘never’
I can choose to be still or flow like a river
It’s my choice to act stupid or be clever.

You can’t force me off my will
You can never beat me at my skill
You can’t push me to take your deal
You can’t teach me my own drill.

Only I can decide what happens to my life
Whether I choose to stay single or take a wife
Or maybe look at the other end which may not be nice
But it’s my life, my decision to be precise.
We all make choices, whether good or bad
For instance, I disowned my dad
It’s not up to you to tell if it’s wise or mad
Though it comes with a consequence for me to be an abandoned lad.

Noon has its own dealings; night has its own feelings
Having spent a day that has no meaning
Laying down sleepless, looking at the ceiling
Slowly your eyes get closed without knowing
Rising to a new day with a beautiful morning.

Sometimes the morning can’t really be good
Especially when times are hard; no cash, no food
Late night sleep and you wake up to a noisy hood
Neighbors keep calling but you’re not in the mood
You keep hearing “good morning” and you think it’s rude.

You keep wondering, “what has life got to offer you today?”
You work so hard, you can’t tell what it feels like to play
It’s like the more you pray, you become the targeted prey
And your thoughts keep coming, your feelings taking you away
You’re hoping there is no such like “good morning” or another day.

My life has not being what exactly I planned.
The storm has being heavy, taking everything I earned.
I've being all over the place; scattered as sand!
Neglecting all I should focus on; but to my fans I say, I'm sorry..
Please take back my hand.

Sometimes I can hardly understand myself..
I seek things beyond my reach.. I'm more like searching for elf.
It's of late I've realized life is a beautiful thing itself.
To my readers I say I'm sorry as I welcome you all to my normal self.

All this while, I've being acting busy like an ant.
Achieving just a little and it's not really instant.
But I'm all ready to move on; that's the fact.
I'm really sorry from the depths of heart..
